Adel is secretary general of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) and professor of Energy Geopolitics at the Free University of Brussels (U.L.B.)

He conducted several socio-economic studies on the Clean Energy Transition and leads EERA advisory activities to the European Commission pertaining to its Climate/Energy strategy and more recently to EU’s response to the energy crisis.

Beyond its techno-economic aspects, he focuses on the societal dimension of the energy transition and to the compatibility of our growth model with the planetary boundaries.

Adel holds a Master degree in engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles (U.L.B), graduated in Business Administration from Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (U.L.B ) and INSEAD and later specialized in
environment management (U.L.B.)
